Bond stress-slip relationship in concrete-filled square stainless steel tubes

The application of stainless steel tubes in concrete-filled tube systems can significantly improve their corrosion resistance comparison with those that employ carbon tubes. In this paper, a series push-out tests were carried out to investigate the bond stress-slip behavior between and concrete. A total 14 square specimens tested, covering two cross-sectional width-thickness ratios (B/t = 30 50), concrete strength (fcu 44 76 MPa), three rib stiffener types (ordinary, saw-shaped perfobond leister) grades (austenitic duplex). test results indicate B/t, fcu grade have noticeable influences on ultimate stress (τu) addition stiffeners improves behavior. mechanism at different stages loading effect various parameters τu are discussed. Based results, an idealized strain (τ-εS) curve was proposed, where good agreement proposed model has been achieved.
